It's
#InternationalPolarBearDay! Climate change is the polar bear's biggest threat, however there are more threats such as oil spills and plastic. In from 1996-2018 25% of polar bears had plastic in their stomachs, the plastic ingestion can make them irritable and aggressive. Plastic waste is more difficult to manage in the freezing climates. Oil can reduce the insulating effect of the bear's fur. In return causes them to use more energy to get warm. The oil can also poison the bear's when ingested and expose them to toxic chemicals such as pesticides through their prey. This can affect the bear's biological functioning and ability to reproduce. Help save our Polar Bears and other marine life by cutting out plastic!
