Who’s tailgating this weekend?
Football season is finally here and that means long days at the stadium for some people. Here are my tips to help your tailgate be as healthy as possible.
Tailgating typically means many hours surrounded with food and alcohol. Therefore one of the best things you can do is plan ahead. Plan to bring healthy foods that you can snack on all day long. My go to is a big tray of raw veggies with a yummy dip such as hummus or spinach dip. You can never eat too many carrots cucumbers or sugar snap peas and these are foods that are going to fill you up and keep you full and give you that nice crunch you may be looking for.
The biggest thing I do when I’m tailgating is delay my first bite. I try to prevent eating that first bite of food as long as possible. Typically as soon as I start eating I’m going to be grazing the rest of the time.
