Don’t expect to visit Beverly Beach State Park until much later this summer. The popular campground and beach near Newport was set to open on July 1 but now that date has been moved back to Aug. 1. This is another extension of the closure, which began on Sept. 5, 2023. The closure includes the campground, day-use area and group meeting yurt, where crews continue to install underground power lines and replace waterlines as part of a $50 million upgrade across the state park system funded by a 2021 bond approved by the state legislature.
