As I am in Berlin working the Special Olympics National Games, I would like to present my passion project I worked on with @spolympicsmd this past year that helped propel me to this point. This project covered the lives of 10 Baltimore City athletes and their experiences with Special Olympics through the lens of Morgan State journalism students . The project included a online Zoom interview as well as an in-person Unified Bocce game between students, athletes, coaches and staff. This project was meant to highlight our Baltimore City athletes, give Morgan State students practical experience interviewing athletes with disabilities, promote Special Olympics on a larger scale for recruitment & retention and lastly build a unique diverse partnership with one of the most distinguished HBCU’s in the area.
