Stay warm, KC. ❄️ A quick-moving winter storm cut through the Kansas City area this morning, bringing bitter cold, freezing drizzle and snow that soon turned roads slick and made travel hazardous. Strong prevailing northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph, along with gusts up to 35 mph, created blowing snow and reduced visibility. Near blizzard and whiteout conditions made travel hazardous in the Kansas City area and across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. The snow is expected to end soon, but blowing snow could continue to reduce visibility throughout the day and linger into at least Friday. Travel is expected to remain hazardous into Friday. Head to the link in our bio for our latest update on the first winter storm of the season. #KansasCity #Weather #WinterStorm #Snow #FreezingTemperatures #LocalNews
