On Aug. 2, voters in Kansas will decide whether or not to remove the right to an abortion from the state’s constitution. In 2019, the Kansas Supreme Court said the state’s constitution included a right to bodily autonomy, which included abortion. The Value Them Both Amendment would remove this right and allow legislators to restrict or ban the procedure in the future if passed. Even though the procedure is protected under the constitution, Kansas still heavily regulates abortions. Abortions after 22 weeks are strictly limited, and patients must receive mandatory state-written materials and go through an ultrasound until the procedure is completed. Parental consent is required for minors. Click on the link in our bio to read more. ✏️ Kynala Phillips and Katie Bernard #kansas #abortion #roevwade #valuethemboth
