Can't begin to tell you how scary it is when our #vwbus starts leaking Gas. It's been a constant source of paranoia since I left chile and started heading #north over 3 years ago. Unlike other cars, in a #bus the gas tank is right next to the engine meaning that there isn't much time for firefighting when the shit hits the fan (there is no firewall) This week we've had gas gushing out over the hottest part of the motor and next to the sparkplugs all the while whilst driving through tinder-dry forests. The problem, this tiny rubber o-ring is cracked and worn. We couldn't find a replacement at first so I had to reshape it with sandpaper to get us back onto the road. Some seriously scary motoring, we could have lost our home in a matter of moments.
