With the backdrop of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, I think about how powerful it is that a family like ours is here. A Chicano father born and raised in Northeast LA. A Southern mother born and raised in Atlanta. And two half-Latino, half-Georgia Peach kids. 4th generation Mexican-Americans.
