Royal Blood, Download Festival 2024 REVIEW: Royal Blood were born to do this, but you already knew that. It's been a decade since they last dug their heels into the Donington turf, where they tore up the third stage, and you can tell that they are making up for lost time in a big way here. The amps are firmly turned up to 11, with 'Trouble's Coming' and 'Little Monster' feeling appropriately monumental, whilst the tricky swagger of 'Boilermaker' and devilish relent of 'How Did We Get So Dark?' provide plenty of dancefloor fuel. There's such an effortlessness to everything that Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher do, especially when it involves playing stages of this stature, and they are revelling in the opportunity to turn heads and blow speakers in such a commanding and crushing manner. As a hip-swaying 'Figure It Out' chalks this up as a significant victory, all hope it won't be another decade until this hallowed ground gets blood this royal spilt on it again. āœļø Jack Rogers šŸ“· Carla Mund...
