I finally had the chance to come visit the coralgardeners team in Moorea. This is something I have wanted to be a part of since I first heard about it last year. Our coral reefs produce 50% of Earths oxygen & are a vital part of our lives wether you live by the ocean or not. If you breath, this concerns you. If you don’t breath you don’t have anything to worry about. With ocean temperatures rising & pollution, our coral reefs are dying at an alarming rate. Scientist & studies show that our reefs could be extinct by 2050. Taking direct action is the only way to save the reef & that is exactly what the coralgardeners are doing. We spent the day replanting broken & damaged pieces of coral in places where it has disappeared. I can’t wait to bring this knowledge & direct action back to Hawaii where it is much needed.
