Red Velvet Cake Recipe
Makes about 48 cupcakes
3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
3 cups (600 g) sugar
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted
½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 ½ cups (360 ml) buttermilk
3 tbsp sour cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp white/cider vinegar
1 tbsp super red gel coloring or 1 tsp powdered coloring
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (176C) and
line a cupcake tray with baking cups.
Sift the dry ingredients together into the bowl of your stand mixer. Set the mixer to the lowest speed and using the paddle attachment, blend until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients (room temperature).
