If you're daydreaming of future travels while stuck at home during the pandemic, why fantasize about Bali or Venice when vacationing in space could be in your future? Voyager Station is a cruise ship-style hotel that could one day float above Earth’s atmosphere. Comprised of 24 modules connected by elevator shafts that make up a rotating wheel orbiting Earth, it’s scheduled to be fully operational by 2027. Renderings of what the hotel might look are similar to luxury Earth-bound hotels, just with some spectacular out-of-this-world views. The hotel won’t ignore the novelty of being in space altogether. The hotel’s restaurant may sell traditional "space food,” like freeze dried ice cream. Recreational activities will “highlight the fact that you're able to do things that you can't do on Earth," according to Tim Alatorre, senior design architect at Orbital Assembly Corporation.
