A haunted weekend getaway for Tudor royalty, Chenies Manor in England’s Buckinghamshire regularly hosted Queen Elizabeth I when she needed a break from London. There have been regular ghost sightings at this beautiful building, which opens to the public and hosts weddings and other events. The lack of windows on the building’s southern side is apparently because its owners feared that the Black Death would be blown in on the breezes from London, 30 or so miles away.
