At the #FloridaFunkFest, we complied with the City of Orlando’s lightning strike advisory on both event nights. Saturday’s advisory resulted in a three-hour pause. Once the advisory was lifted, the show promptly resumed. Acknowledging the significant impact on the schedule, the organizers immediately sought an extension for the closing time from Central Florida Fairgrounds. Given the weather-related delay, the organizers felt their request was reasonable. Unfortunately, despite the three-hour pause in the show due to the weather advisory, the limited time extension provided was insufficient, resulting in the final act being unable to perform.
