Its official 🎉 January 23rd, is declared as “Geographies of Trash” day in North Miami Beach! Dean Brian Schriner welcomed City of North Miami Beach Commissioner Daniela Jean to honor David Anasagasti (aka Ahol Sniffs Glue), FIU College of Communication, Architecture, + the Arts (CARTA) Ratcliffe Art + Design Incubator Entrepreneurial Resident with a proclamation declaring the day. The proclamation is in honor of David’s “Geographies of Trash” project which he realized while at fiu_ratcliffe which features a selection of “found” pieces of art founded by the artist. Seeking to make the art more accessible, Ahol tags pieces of trash with his signature eye graffiti and transforms “garbage” into the collectible works of art that anyone can take home. He posts images of this work on Instagram (aholsniffsglue) and other social media sites and gives limited clues as to where the new pieces of art can be found, inviting his followers to engage in a modern-day digital scavenger hunt.
