La Joya ISD has implemented strategies and recommendations for employees to prevent the spread of COVID-19. • Conduct daily self-health checks • Require employees to wear face coverings in the workplace. • Practice safe social distancing at all times in district buildings and parking lots. • Encourage sick workers to report symptoms, stay home, and follow CDC guidance. • Remind workers of available health support services • Close/limit use of shared spaces • Use technology to promote social distancing (e.g., remote work and virtual meetings) • Communicate to partners, suppliers, other outside contractors on district policies and practices. • Consider policies that encourage flexible sick leave and alternative work schedules. • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, (e.g., counters, shelving, displays) • Provide employees with disposable disinfectant wipes, cleaner, or sprays that are effective against the virus that causes COVID-19.
