In the last month, every corner of the world has been hit by climate driven extreme weather.
The Democratic Republic of Congo was hit by intense floods and landslides, causing hundreds of deaths, with over 5000 people still missing. Italy has just endured its worst flooding in 100 years, leaving over 20,000 homeless. Cyclone Macha battered Bangladesh and Myanmar, with refugee camps bearing the brunt of the damage and forcing half a million people to be evacuated. Canada is also battling wildfires at the moment, which have destroyed millions of acres of forest, submerged cities in smoke and made thousands of people homeless.
The climate crisis is here and it’s being driven by the fossil fuel industry who continue to expand oil and gas production despite the warnings of climate scientists. But all is not lost, together we can demand justice.
Take action now by signing our petition calling on the fossil fuel industry to stop drilling and start paying for their climate damage!
