What do we want? Climate Justice! Today, people from Dutch-Caribbean island Bonaire together with greenpeacenl , launch a legal action for climate justice. The Dutch state must protect all its citizens!

Research has shown that the climate crisis is already affecting the human rights of people in the Caribbean and every additional increment of global warming will have severe impacts on people’s lives, houses, jobs and health. Governments have a duty to protect human rights and limit global warming as much as possible.
Danique, one of the plaintiffs said: “It is important that the Dutch government takes responsibility. There are plans to protect the European Netherlands against sea-level rise, but for Bonaire this is not yet the case. We demand climate justice!”
