10 years ago, 1,134 people were killed in the collapse of the #RanaPlaza factory building in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where clothing was being made for international brands. 10 years later, the fast fashion industry is still crushing workers and destroying the planet. Today, greenpeace.de releases a new report showing that while the fast fashion industry is increasingly touting sustainability and better working conditions, it is mostly greenwashing. The report explains how companies create green labels themselves using terms such as "sustainable, "green" or "fair. To advertise sustainability on such labels, when growing volumes of clothes are made of disposable plastic in catastrophic working conditions, is just greenwashing. Without binding regulation, global fashion brands will continue tinkering at the edges of the destructive fast fashion business model. We need to change the system. Fast fashion will never be green. Sharing, repairing and second-hand must become the new normal. . ....
