Women and girls are disproportionately affected by #ClimateChange.⁣ ⁣ Across the world, women are 80% more likely to be displaced by #climate shocks like the huge floods in Pakistan, droughts in Kenya as well as heat waves and extreme storms. These climate shocks force women and young girls further into vulnerability by affecting their capability to provide for themselves and their families. Very often, they are forced into dangerous and violent circumstances just to survive.⁣ ⁣ Women produce up to 80% of the world’s food. They are often the primary caregivers and food providers for their families, which makes them particularly vulnerable to locust swarms, malnutrition and droughts.
