I said Literary Mixology No. 6 would have a connection to The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster (beyond it being one of my favourite books) and it does. This is the New York Neck Breaker, nitehawksbar's answer to the Whisky Sour. The reason for the above quote from the heroine of Thomas Pynchon's brilliant postmodern tale of 60s paranoia is that she drinks Whisky Sours. She also shares a certain surname with the titular character of my novel, the reclusive artist
#EzraMaas although I'm told there's no relation... Coming full circle again, Auster's masterpiece (as well as Pynchon's work) was an undoubted influence on my own writing
