"The best time to drink champagne is before lunch." - Harold Pinter, No Man's Land To honour Pinter's dark, unsettling and very funny 1975 play, I'm going to start Literary Mixology with a champagne breakfast. I had the pleasure of watching sirpatstew and ianmckellen bring No Man's Land to newcastletheatreroyal last year including a Q&A with the actors afterwards. Pinter himself described No Man's Land as a 'weird haunting play' that he didn't fully understand himself and I love that idea that a writer can sometimes create a work that a outside even their understanding or control.
