Just one week prior to Portland2016, Barbara Pierre clocked a lifetime best of 7.00 in the 60m at the U.S. Indoor Championships. Her time equaled the world leading mark of Dafne Schippers. Given that context, when the two athletes met in the 60m final at World’s, they were ready to put on a show for the U.S. crowd. With an electrifying start out of the blocks, it was Pierre who bolted across the line to earn gold and write her name in the history books. #Portland2016 x #BlackHistoryMonth
