Today’s terminology is UCHI UKE or in Shotokan, SOTO UKE.
In Shito ryu, the block is called uchi uke because the block is going TOWARDS the inside. However, in Shotokan it’s called Soto uke because the block STARTS from the outside.
Again, same with all the other blocks, Shito ryu will finish with the body facing forward, versus shotokan, where the body will be in hanmi.
