Making it to medal match yesterday was a big feat for me. It made me realize how far I’ve come.
Past several years have been tough for me, simply because my results did not reflect the effort and work I put in.
But what helped me the most, was to realize how much support I’ve had from my family. No matter the results, my family has always been by my side. They always motivated me, pushed me, and provided me the best environment for my growth as an athlete and as a person.
I don’t like to talk about my family issues, but my family has been in tough circumstances in many ways. Sacrifices were made, and a lot of opportunities were given up, just so that they can support me and my athlete life. I can’t thank them enough for giving me something that I can be so passionate about for such a long time.
Kata competition is very subjective even with the new point system. I believe I was able to fight my way to the medal match yesterday because I DID NOT GIVE UP. Hard work ...
