So, this is the part where I get sappy and emotional for the experience that not only I but my family have been through over the past month. My grandfather’s passing was sudden and truly caught us all off-guard. My Zayda was a fixture in my life, my family’s life, the lives of his friends, and kids that he had coached. He was someone that you always thought was going to be around, whose words of wisdom would be ever-flowing. To be welcomed in with open arms after such a personally challenging loss by the girls that he had coached will forever mean the world to me. Not only that, but to have the team come together to be there for my family was one of the most touching moments of that entire day of the funeral. Every single game that I went to, the girls on the team were happy to see me. They embraced the camera and rose to the occasion every single time they got up to the plate or went onto the field.
