📸 Re:wild Associate An Nguyen has published the very first camera-trapping assessment of wildlife in Vietnam’s southern Annamite Mountains. These photos captured the vast diversity of ground-dwelling bird and mammal species, revealing several highly threatened and endemic species there. This mountain chain is vital to the health of our planet and is located within the Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot and contains many #KeyBiodiversityAreas (which are critical to the persistence of biodiversity and the overall health of our planet!). Nguyen’s study was a joint effort of leibnizizw, Bidoup National Park, the Southern Institute of Ecology, and Re:wild. This work highlighted the importance of intact broadleaf evergreen forests throughout this region to support wildlife populations.
