🍍 Meet the frugivores: unsung carbon superheroes!
Ever heard of frugivores? 🍌 They're animals that eat fruit and play a critical role in our fight against climate change.
In places like the Amazon rainforest, fruit-eating animals like tapirs, monkeys, and birds help spread seeds of trees that are able to store large amounts of carbon. 🌱
But there's a hitch: these species are in decline—and that's bad news for our battle against climate change. Without them, the carbon cycle is disrupted.
Let’s protect the wild homes of frugivores and do what we can to restore their degraded homes. We need all of the biodiversity that keeps the planet wild to address climate change. #RewildCOP
