Engaging local women - rewild partner, haiti_national_trust is working to restore Grand Bois National Park by employing community members in their efforts to cultivate native plants. In a country where less than 1% of its original forests remain, Haiti National Trust is at the forefront of Haiti’s conservation efforts, and proudly celebrates the significant milestone of hiring a workforce comprised of 40% women. Haitian women are often the primary household caregivers, and by providing gainful employment opportunities Haiti National Trust is providing critical livelihoods while also restoring the wild.
