The Huemul Deer: a keystone species to rewild Patagonia! Native to Argentina and Chile, the endangered #Huemul Deer has found refuge along the Chilean #Patagonia’s Route of Parks, where our partner @rewildingchile is working to protect and restore one of the last wild places in the world. To recover this species, they created the National Huemul Corridor Initiative to connect the species’ small and fragmented populations in critical conservation areas. With just 1,500 individuals remaining, we celebrate this conservation work on #HuemulDay to protect this shy and stealthy deer!
