Exciting news from Down Under!
The first confirmed set of Tasmanian Devil joeys has been born in the wilds of mainland Australia in 2023, marking a huge success for Aussie Ark’s rewilding efforts.
The joeys were born to “Adventurous Lisa,” one of 11 devils released into a 1,000-acre wildlife sanctuary in Barrington Tops in 2020, with the help of actors Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky. Since then, an additional 21 adults have been released into the wild, and 16 joeys total have been born. The breeding and rewilding program has been a great success for
@aussieark, who founded the Tasmanian devil breeding program in 2011.
