Meet Reinhold Mangundu (reiny_kapitan), an environmental activist, poet and member of #TeamRewild, who is deeply committed to protecting the magnificent Okavango River Basin in Namibia and Botswana. Reinhold has worked with other activists to organize a climate strike, petition UNESCO, and call on Namibia’s National Assembly to halt oil exploration in the country’s Kavango regions. His passion emerged out of environmental damage his own village suffered from development. After nearby forests were destroyed, the village experienced more frequent droughts and floods. Reinhold is determined to safeguard the precious biodiversity and freshwater of the Okavango River Basin, which provides a vital source of water for nearly one million people.
