Thanks to the incredible leadership of local communities, The Provincial Court in Imbabura, Ecuador, revoked the license for the Llurimagua copper mining project in Intag Valley, ruling that the project violated both the rights of nature and the rights of the local communities to consultation. This is a huge win for nature and people! For decades, local communities from Intag Valley have defended their homes, livelihoods and the critical ecosystems in which they live from mining.
