“And he said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ Immediately they left their nets and followed him.” -Matthew 4:19-20 The disciples heard Jesus call them and immediately trusted him. They left in the middle of their job; they left everything behind and followed. Jesus comes with the greatest news ever, one that we shouldn’t hold to ourselves. A message that demands action, moreover it compels action. Knowing that Jesus came down to Earth, lived and suffered as a man, died on the cross, and then rose again all for the sins of the world is so amazing. When the Holy Spirit came to dwell within us, we can hear the Lord’s will, we see how God works, and God will work through us to bring others to him. This is how the disciples were fishers of men, and how we too will be.
