The Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program is in the second week of summer fieldwork, excavating at an 18th century Spanish waterfront site on the river north of St. Augustine, Florida! LAMP is excavating in the creek while our partners at Flagler College and University of Texas run a terrestrial excavation and field school on land. The Museum founded the St. Augustine Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) in 1999 to conduct research and maritime archaeology to better understand and share 500 Years of Maritime Heritage in St. Augustine and the State of Florida.
