#MutantMonday cultivaconmrq2's Black Rainbow Fem "fasciated polyploid," a rare double mutation giving this plant unusual characteristics. Polyploidism, common in nature, means a plant has more than the usual number (two) of chromosome sets. The extra chromosomes are thought to increase vigor, growth, and cannabinoid content. Fasciation, a mutation in cell growth, is known to cause a flattening of the plant stem / overall structure and often shows flowers pushed together with multiple bud sites from the same location. There's more to it, and having both mutations at once + judging by photos alone makes it difficult to pinpoint which change is coming from which mutation and to what extent, but this is one unusual and cool-looking plant nonetheless.
