Today as part of the City's Safer Streets Initiative, I announced that the City of Houston will adopt #VisionZero, a comprehensive strategy which reframes the way we think about street safety. This means Houston will join cities and states in creating and carrying out strategies built on these fundamental principles: o everyone deserves safe and mindful mobility, o roadway fatalities are preventable, o And NO loss of life by traffic collision is acceptable. I plan to formalize the City’s support for Vision Zero through an Executive Order with goal to drastically reduce or eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030. #SaferStreets #SaferStreetsInitiative #safestreets
