The doctor just called and told us the lab results of the cyst that was surgically removed from underneath Maxine’s right eye. It’s thankfully benign. And now here’s why Maxine has been wearing a cone these past few days: A few months ago we noticed a growth under Maxine’s right eye. Our vet thought it might be a clogged tear duct, so they drained it and it disappeared. Then a few weeks later the mass re-appeared, signaling this might be a cyst and not a clogged tear duct. So we took our vet’s recommendation to see a veterinary ophthalmologist who told us that it was likely benign, but couldn’t give us 100% certainty that the growth wasn’t cancerous, so we opted to remove it and get it tested. And now that we know it’s benign, that’s the end of that and Maxine gets her cone off on Monday. Thanks to the vets at The Veterinary Eye Center of NYC & West Village Vet Hospital. Special shout-out to pet health insurance, which we HIGHLY recommend. Okay. I’m gonna go have a drink now.
