Today, let's take a look at a legendary Catamount in Karen Sanders Peterson! Peterson is the only female to compete on a men’s varsity team and earn a varsity letter in the history of the NAIA. Playing for the men’s tennis team from 1962-64 mostly as the No. 2 singles player and No. 1 doubles team, the Native American finished second in the North Carolina intercollegiate championship tournament.
