Did you know in 1996, Salem United made their first Regionals appearance? 🏆 In 1996, the club crowned several State Champions in the Snickers Cup and the President’s Cup. In the Snickers Cup play, the U-18 boys Kings coached by Jim Tursi won the state championship and went to regionals. The U-19 girls coached by Jon Bullock were runners-up and went to the regional competition as a wild card team. The U-12 boys Tsunamis coached by Carlos Atilano and Gary Boehne reached the semifinals. In President’s Cup play, the U-12 girls Shockers coached by Mic McGregor, the U-14 boys coached by Todd Yorke, and the U-16 boys Arsenal coached by Eric Johansen all won state championships.
