To Vouge is to be free. On July 29, 2023, O’Shae Sibley was killed while voguing at a gas station. O’Shae was a passionate dancer who found joy in artistic expression through Vogue. Vogue, a dance born in the 1980s Ballroom Scene by Black queer and trans individuals, symbolizes freedom. Rooted in radical expression, it empowered Black queer people to resist societal discrimination.
