I made it up to Carvers Gap on the NC/TN border along the @appalachian.trail around 545AM just enough time to make it up to Geassy ridge for sunrise, as I got up on The first bald the moon was looking really cool with the clouds flying in front of it and I decided instead of shooting the same spot I had the previous couple times why not find something new. So I went down a little ways and came to one of my favorite spots along the AT. This section where you’re coming down off Round Bald and you can almost see the entire trail curving along the ridge up to Geassy on the top right. It’s usually at this point where you’re like oh my, I still have to go up that. 🤦🏼‍♂️ As it got closer to sunrise I noticed those clouds had moved just far enough over me but weren’t clipping the horizon and I thought this might be good.
