I knew the conditions along this section of the Appalachian trail were going to be pretty brutal but till you're actually in it and experience -19 with winds up to 50mph you don't really know what you're getting yourself into. The sunrise was decent on top of the mountain but the real story was coming back down. The winds were relentless and I was determined to get the shot that would make the viewer feel that chill.
