Looking back at One of my all time favorite mornings. I think it was a scorching 5degrees when we arrived at Carver’s Gap. Having never hiked up to Grassy Ridge we had no idea what we were in for. We quickly found the trails were solid ice. So we spent most of the time just walking where the ice wasn’t. We got to the top of Round Bald about 30 minutes before sunrise. @_brian_murphy_ and I both decided we could make it to the top of Grassy Ridge before the sun rose. So we took off running down the mountain. In about a foot of snow, to think we even had chance was hilarious and it only took about 20 minutes struggling our way up Jane Bald to realize we had much farther to go then either of us expected. That realization gave me the time thigh to turn around and see what was behind me. The sun had rose and was just starting to light up the peaks behind us. It was a moment I’ll never forget.
