The story of my first new sled is one I will never forget! When I was 12 years old I starting bagging groceries at the local grocery store. I figured out that if I saved pretty much all the money I would make all spring and summer that I would have enough money to pay the trade in for a new XCR 440. On my 13th birthday at the end of summer, my Dad picked up my new sled and surprised me with it. (Pictured) I would start the sled, rev it up, clean it, look at it in awe almost every day as I anxiously awaited the snow to come. One day late in the fall I was out side playing and I looked over and saw Dad running wide open from the shop. “CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT! “ As he ran by me to the house. I ran to the garage and it was a blaze of fire coming out of the garage doors. Our sleds were in the back beginning to burn as my Mom and Dad scrambled to move vehicles and things before they caught on fire. The only thing that was left of the sleds were the metal parts.
