From chains to change-makers. What freedoms are we still fighting for? How will you honor Juneteenth's legacy?
Today, we mark the Juneteenth holiday, a defiant declaration of freedom and triumph over oppression. On June 19th, 1865, the shackles of slavery finally shattered as Black Americans in Texas learned of their emancipation. As we celebrate this pivotal moment in history, we must ask: What freedoms are we still fighting for?
At the National Civil Rights Museum, we stand shoulder to shoulder with those who have fought for liberation, and we invite you to join us in honoring their legacy by sharing the freedoms we’re still fighting for in the comments.
Let's unite in the pursuit of justice and equality for all, knowing that our actions today will shape the history books of tomorrow.
