The research says that the soleus pushup (SPU) is better than walking, exercise, and intermittent fasting in treating diabetes. SPU increases the oxidative metabolism by burning blood glucose or fats and fuels metabolism for hours even while sitting. Prof Theodore Zderic University of Houston Soleus Pushup: Sit with your feet flat on the floor and 90 degrees at the knee. Press your toes firmly onto the floor and lift the heels as high as you can and passively drop the heels down. Repeat it. You can do this while sitting and working, watching TV, etc. Note: This exercise is to be done only while sitting. While standing, the soleus muscle doesn’t get its maximum contraction.
