Have you seen these tags? #IAmNotAVirus #WashTheHate These hashtags are a supportive response against unprovoked acts of violence and words of hate against people of Asian descent around the world. The first tag began in France as #JeNeSuisPasUnVirus, meaning “I am not a virus.” As EVMS students, our core values state: "Build strong and mutually supportive relationships" & "We strive to maintain the highest ethical standards." In this time of change we hold true to these values. The global community has unfortunately witnessed racism and xenophobia as reactions to H1N1, HIV, ebolavirus, and more. This trend has been continuing with COVID-19. INSTEAD… Let us focus on unity and connection not isolation and discrimination.
