Happy #juneteenth Today we celebrate the freedom that was promised yet didn’t fully come until 2 years later. Obviously freedom delayed is better than any form of bondage or enslavement but is no consolation for the horrors of American Chattel slavery. As we celebrate Juneteenth in my house and what it means, danielleforte8.28 and I also teach our kids to love their God given uniqueness and to respect everyone because when you value yourself and your differences you value others and treat everyone with dignity. Few things mirror the uniqueness of people like hair does; coming in every variety of shape, size, texture and color. My first book “My Hair Can” is for early readers and every child who deserves to look in the mirror and value what they see as you’ve been fearfully and wonderfully made. Check out “My Hair Can” dropping September 3rd in English and Spanish but available now for preorder on all platforms! Link in bio #myhaircan #juneteenth #freedom #unique #love #hair #hairlo...
