This week, Port Field Hockey 🏑 further advanced into their season. They stand tied for 5th place in Nassau Conference 1 with 3 other schools with a 2-5 record. The girls recently took on conference leaders Garden City, rival North Shore, and top team Locust Valley. • Tuesday, the girls took on Garden City. The team held high spirits as they played a defensive-heavy game. Despite having multiple break aways, they were unable to put away any goals. They plated a particularly strong second half, where Garden City was only able to score once. Senior Goalie Nikki Gonzalez had 14 saves from the cage, adding to her total of 64 this season! The game ended in a 6-0 loss. • Thursday, Port took their revenge on North Shore. In the previous matchup the game moved into overtime and then shootouts, where Port ultimately lost.
